All welding at KH Engineering is carried out in-house by fully certified welders at our 70,000 sq ft facility in Allenwood, Co. Kildare. Working across TIG, MIG, MMA, and coded welding disciplines, our processes are managed under ISO 9001:2015 and EN 1090-1 factory production control, ensuring full traceability and compliance on every project, regardless of complexity.
Our welders are certified to BS EN ISO 9606-1, covering all positions and material types required for complex structural steelwork. Every weld procedure is documented under a WPS and supported by a WPQR — giving engineers and main contractors full confidence in quality and compliance.
Welding is managed throughout production by our Responsible Welding Coordinator, with inspection records, weld maps, and full material traceability maintained on every contract as standard.
All welders hold current certification to BS EN ISO 9606-1 — the European standard for welder qualification. Every weld position, material group, and process is covered and documented.
Our welding processes are managed under Execution Class 4 — the highest standard in the industry. WPS, WPQR, weld maps, and inspection records are maintained on every contract as standard.
MIG, MMA, and coded welding carried out by our own team in Kildare — no subcontracted welding, no quality risk, and no programme delays caused by third-party availability.
Our welding team delivers certified structural welds across large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects, supporting Ireland’s leading contractors to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Send us your project drawings and welding specification and we’ll confirm scope, programme, and price.
From weld procedure preparation to final inspection, every stage of our welding process is documented, managed, and traceable — meeting the requirements of EN 1090-1 and our EXC4 certification.
Before any welding begins, a Welding Procedure Specification is prepared and qualified with a Welding Procedure Qualification Record, ensuring every joint is welded to a tested and approved procedure.
All welders are assigned to procedures that fall within the scope of their current BS EN ISO 9606-1 certification. Qualifications are monitored and renewed to ensure continuous compliance.
Our Responsible Welding Coordinator oversees welding activity throughout production. Visual inspections and dimensional checks are carried out at defined hold points on every contract.
Completed weld maps, inspection records, and welder identification are maintained for every contract and submitted with the full CE marking documentation package at project close-out.
