Who we are

This website is run by KH Engineering Ltd, structural steel fabricators and erectors based in Allenwood, Co. Kildare. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

What we collect and why

Contact form. When you send us an enquiry, we receive your name, email address, phone number and your message, which may include project details. We use this only to reply to you, prepare a quote and follow up on your project. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract.

Email and phone. If you email or call us, we use your details to deal with your enquiry and, if we work together, to manage the project, including drawings, programmes and deliveries.

Spam protection. Our form uses Google reCAPTCHA to stop automated spam. reCAPTCHA checks your device and how you use the page, and Google receives information such as your IP address. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping our forms secure.

Fonts. Some text styles load from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to load them, which shares your IP address with Google.

Website analytics. Only if you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited and whether someone sends an enquiry or taps to call. We do not use this to identify you. The legal basis is your consent.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We only share it with the service providers we need to run the business and this website:

  • Our website provider and hosting company, who host the website and send form emails.
  • Google, for reCAPTCHA, Google Fonts and, with your consent, Google Analytics.
  • Main contractors, engineers and partners on a project, only where needed to deliver work you have asked us to do.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards approved under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

[ 04 ]

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 12 months if they do not lead to work. If we work together, we keep project and accounting records for as long as Irish tax, company and construction law requires, normally six years and longer where project records must be retained. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
