KH Engineering’s in-house design and detailing team works directly alongside our fabrication facility in Allenwood, Co. Kildare. Every detail we produce is electronically transferred to our CNC machinery — removing the coordination delays that come with using an external detailer and accelerating your project from drawing to steel on site.
Our dedicated design team works in Tekla Structures, StruCad, AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks — producing fabrication and erection drawings that transfer electronically and directly to our CNC machinery. This direct link between our drawing office and factory floor means faster production, fewer errors, and no delays between approval and fabrication.
We offer full BIM integration on all projects, producing detailed 3D models before fabrication begins so engineers, architects, and main contractors can review and sign off in a shared digital environment.
When design and fabrication are under the same roof, approved drawings go straight to our CNC line — cutting lead times significantly compared to projects using external detailers.
Our design manager liaises directly with your engineer and architect from brief to approval — resolving design queries quickly and without disruption to programme.
BIM coordination and 3D clash detection before fabrication begins means steelwork arrives on site ready to go up, with connections detailed to suit the structure as built.
KH Engineering are UK Tekla Public Vote Winners 2022, recognised for the quality of our structural steel modelling on the National Children’s Hospital project.
end us your structural engineer’s drawings and we’ll come back with a clear programme for detailing, submission, and fabrication.
From brief to approved drawings to steel in production — our in-house design and detailing team manages the entire process with no external handovers and no delays between the drawing office and the factory floor.
We review the structural engineer's drawings and specification, agree the detailing scope, and establish the programme for drawing submissions.
Our detailers build a complete 3D model in Tekla or StruCad, coordinated with architectural and services drawings where BIM integration is required.
Fabrication, erection, and general arrangement drawings are produced from the model and submitted for engineer approval. Revisions are managed through a controlled drawing register.
Once drawings are approved, all dimensions transfer electronically to our CNC machinery — triggering automated fabrication with no delay between drawing office and factory floor.
Our in-house team is ready to take on your next structural steel package.
